After 11 months in detention, Mr. Humphrey is free! Family and community from around the Bay Area supported Mr. Humphrey at his Bail Hearing in San Francisco. Mr. Humphrey was facing an over $300,000 bail before his case was sent to the Appellate Court where the Judge ruled bail had to be set at the defendant's "ability to pay" in what is now known as the Humphrey Decision. Months later, after people across California were already being released through the Humphrey Decision, Mr. Kenneth Humphrey himself had his own bail hearing in San Francisco. This was the day Mr. Humphrey learns he is released.
